Banqueting Chef

ECS Recruitment is seeking a talented and dedicated Banqueting Chef to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests by leading the preparation and service of high-quality banqueting cuisine. You will work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure seamless operations, maintain exceptional food quality, and uphold high standards of food safety and hygiene.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation & Presentation: Prepare and serve food in line with set recipes, ensuring consistency and high-quality results. Create appealing and visually striking plate presentations.
  • Stock Management: Control and manage stock purchasing, receipt, storage, and usage for banqueting functions, maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
  • Event Coordination: Oversee food operations for banqueting events, ensuring timely and precise delivery according to event schedules and client expectations.
  • Hygiene & Safety Compliance: Adhere to HACCP and COSHH standards, maintain cleanliness in food production areas, and conduct daily temperature readings for safety and quality control.
  • Menu Planning: Assist in the creation of menus for banqueting events, working closely with the Executive Head Chef to fulfill special requests and client preferences.
  • Resource Optimization: Work with the Food and Beverage Manager to optimize resources, control costs, and achieve desired sales targets.
  • Flexibility: Assist with restaurant and brasserie services during quiet banqueting periods to support the broader culinary team.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming, including wearing a clean, professional uniform.
  • Attend internal and external meetings and training sessions as required, continually seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Work in accordance with standard procedures and policies, ensuring adherence to company regulations and industry best practices.
  • Report hazards, accidents, or damages promptly to management, and maintain safe and tidy work areas.

Health and Safety:

  • Comply with statutory and legal requirements for fire, hygiene, and health and safety, as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Participate in fire and safety drills, setting a positive example for guests and colleagues.

Teamwork and Flexibility:

  • Demonstrate a collaborative attitude, assisting other team members and participating in one-on-ones and appraisals.
  • Perform additional reasonable tasks as requested by management to support the smooth running of the kitchen and venue.
