Breakfast Chef

The position is to assist the Executive Head Chef in ensuring that preparation, food production and food service is carried out to the highest standard and in accordance with the food hygiene regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare hot and cold breakfast dishes to high standards.
  • Maintain consistent quality by understanding menu items, ingredients, and cooking methods.
  • Assist with stock control and suggest improvements for food service.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and adherence to health and hygiene procedures.
  • Stay informed about daily and upcoming tasks and requirements.
  • Optimize cooking processes with a focus on speed and quality.
  • Maintain good knowledge of HACCP/COSHH protocols.
  • Ensure the kitchen is fully stocked and prepped for service periods.
  • Properly store and label all ingredients to prevent waste and spoilage.
  • Perform correct stock rotation and control.
  • Accurately record daily temperature readings.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is in good working order and not misused.
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules and perform daily hygiene checks.
  • Serve food that meets the menu specification standards.

Requirements:

  • Relevant culinary experience, particularly with breakfast service.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Team player with good communication abilities.
