Head Chef

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at a bustling restaurant in the heart of Dublin City Center. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating exceptional dishes, have strong leadership skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, including menu development, staff management, and ensuring high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Develop and update innovative menus that reflect the restaurant’s style and meet customer expectations.
  • Ensure the consistent preparation and presentation of dishes according to restaurant standards.
  • Monitor kitchen operations to maintain high levels of quality, efficiency, and cleanliness.
  • Manage food inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storage, to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Oversee adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
  • Keep up-to-date with culinary trends and introduce new techniques or dishes to the menu as appropriate.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Prepare reports on kitchen performance, including financials and operational data.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant setting.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in the culinary arts.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Creative and innovative approach to menu development.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and food safety practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in cost control and inventory management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the restaurant’s schedule.
