ECS Recruitment is currently recruiting a Qualified Accountant with a strong practice background for our client based in Galway City, Co. Galway.
Our client offers services to small and medium-sized businesses, sole traders, partnerships, and individuals.
Main duties will include:
- Preparation and completion of audit-exempt financial statements.
- Preparation of accounts for sole traders and partnerships, primarily focusing on GP practices.
- Preparation of tax returns, including income tax and property rental accounts, as well as corporation tax.
- Some involvement in payroll, VAT, and RCT compliance, although this will be minimal.
- Preparation of management accounts for specific clients on a quarterly or biannual basis.
- Conducting audits and completing financial statements.
- Preparation of budgets and cash flow projections.
- Handling miscellaneous inquiries from clients, banks, and revenue authorities, including revenue audits.
- Your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Preparing working papers and financial statements in accordance with relevant procedures and standards.
- Conducting audits for a diverse range of clients in line with auditing principles.
- Preparing corporate and personal tax returns.
- Investigating and resolving issues that arise during assignments.
- Ensuring assignments are completed within budget and time constraints.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
- Performing assignments in a timely, professional, and efficient manner.
- Achieving fee targets for your assigned portfolio.
- Creating technical briefs and checklists for both staff and clients.
Qualifications and experiences required:
- 3+ years of general accounting practice experience.
- ACA/ACCA qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
- Practical experience in preparing tax returns.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Surf Accounts Production/Relate Accounts Production or similar financial statements software, Revenue online service, Excel, Word, and payroll packages.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to critically analyze information.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Leadership abilities with a capacity to supervise.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to use initiative while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
