Sous Chef

The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations within a contract catering environment. This role involves ensuring the preparation of high-quality food, maintaining food safety standards, and supervising kitchen staff. The Sous Chef will play a key role in menu planning, inventory management, and ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent culinary service.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation and Cooking:
    • Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications and customer requirements.
    • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  2. Kitchen Management:
    • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations.
    • Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and other assistants.
    • Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and complies with health and safety regulations.
  3. Menu Planning:
    • Assist in the creation of menus, ensuring a variety of offerings that cater to different dietary needs and preferences.
    • Innovate and introduce new dishes in line with current food trends and customer feedback.
  4. Inventory and Supplies:
    • Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of food items.
    • Monitor stock levels and minimize waste through efficient use of resources.
  5. Quality Control:
    • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
    • Conduct regular quality checks and ensure consistency in all dishes served.
  6. Training and Development:
    • Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  7. Customer Service:
    • Interact with customers to gather feedback and address any concerns.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
  8. Health and Safety:
